Fuel price slash

August 24th, 2008

A bit relief for motorist with fuel price slash by 15 cents. I heard a rumor on the net about this and decide to fill up only RM20 on the afternoon since my car is almost empty. On the late evening, it’s confirm the the price is reduce but unlike the price increase time, no one rush to petrol station to fill up. The announcement of the price reduce was coincident with Permatang Pauh bi-election in which former ex-DPM will contest to regain his seat in parliament. Does the fuel price slash announcement is a political decision? I don’t know. I’m not in favour in politic anyway but my hope to see some other item price will go down as well so the people financial burden will relief a bit. At least….

With 15 cent reduce I’m able to saved RM3 from my regular fill up. How do I get RM3 saving? I use Petronas petrol station and and their pump able to choose either we want to fill up by Ringgit or by little. Since I’m using a credit card all the time, I’m able to choose to fill up by liter by selecting the option from the pump. Last time with 20 liter, I’d to pay RM54 but now with the same amount I’d to pay RM51. Not much but money is money and the most important thing it’s our money.

Fuel price hike

June 5th, 2008

Prime Minister (Pak Lah) had announce a fuel price increased by 98 cent to RM2.70 from RM1.92 per litter on 4th of Jun. A massive price increase in Malaysia history. I’d fill up RM50 on the afternoon unknown about the price will be increase by 12 midnight but it too late to returned back to petrol station on the afternoon as everybody is rushing and qued up to fill up theirs. Unlike everybody, I’m not bother much about the fuel price increase as I didn’t travel frequent except for work and ‘balik kampung’ once a while. My bet is on the other product pricing related to fuel, food of course will surely increase.

On the bright side, since I’d adopted myself with some trick on the personal financial planning for a couple month back from July last year, it won’t hurt me and my family much. I still can maintain regular saving amount in my unit trust account and still enjoy life as usual. Thank god, if not surely my financial status will be in chaos with all the items price goes up.
